According to recent statistics from the  National Center for Educational Statistics, women outnumber men in higher education: roughly 55-56% of bachelor and graduate degrees go to women. 
     The current school system presents insurmountable challenges for the average boy.  Standardized tests, increased class size, and unimaginative teachers (mostly females) ignore the fact that most boys learn differently from girls.   According to one research, average boys cannot really focus and perform as well as girls until 11-13 years of age.  And yet, a lot of damage has already been done in elementary school!  Star Tests begin in second grade.  Weekly tests with clearly marked percentages start in third grade.   Report cards with letter grade evaluation commence in fourth grade.  
     There are 4 main options available to parents of active boys:
1) Hold the child back one year  2) Medicate the attention deficit boy 3)  Send the child to the tutoring center or 4) Home school the child until he is ready.   I choose option 5, which is to come up with creative ways to supplement the school lessons.
