A Room of Dreams

Pottery Barn Kids product lines appeal to kids at every age. The PBK quality is exceptional and will last through many washings.   I am not just a reseller, I am also a user of PBK products so I can endorse and share my experiences.  My very first purchase from PBK was when I got pregnant with my son.  I couldn't wait to decorate the nursery (you know the feeling)!  I went to the store and fell in love the Farmyard collection.  Unfortunately, it was in the clearance section and I could only find the bumper for $19.99.  So disappointed, I decided all was not lost and went to buy a sewing machine to make my first quilt to match the bumper. It was drastic but I made the quilt myself after many hours of labor of love.  I never made another quilt because I realized how much work and cost went into the process!
My advice on designing a nice room for your kids depends on your budget.   The table below shows various help links to assist you in the decorating decisions.  Please check it out and if you need further assistance, you can email me!

If your budget is limited, go for creativity and careful selection of pieces whose usefulness lasts longer than stages of your kids development.  I don't think you will get a worse room than the customers with unlimited budget. With careful selection and some effort, your child's room will look just as good as a designer's room.  Furniture is no doubt the biggest expense.  I would not spend thousands of dollars on a sleigh bed from PBK.  Yes, it looks nice and beautiful but with all the quilts and beddings on it, it's probably not the main attraction.  I would purchase a good value bed from IKEA for about $200-$250. The rug is the next piece that should be selected with care.  Again, you can choose the same theme as the bedding collection, but why not coordinate with a generic rug that will be used for many years? PBK offers many beautiful coordinating rugs like the braided rugs that are durable and reversible for twice the use?  I don't like PBK's wool rugs for a simple reason that for the first few months of life, they will shed.  If you have allergy, it is not cool!
